Victor Joseph Castillo
Victor J. "Deter" Castillo, 48, of Soledad, passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital. Victor was born January 7, 1965 in Salinas and had been a lifelong resident of Monterey County.
He served in the U.S. Marines from 1984 to 1986. He enjoyed being with family and making people laugh. He will be missed dearly, and remembered forever.
He is survived by his daughters, Ashliegh Burgos and Destiny Castillo, of Soledad; father, Dionicio Castillo of Soledad; sisters, Vickie (Fred) Quitevis of Gonzales, Virginia (Virgilio) Sibaja of Soledad; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Anita Castillo in 2001; brothers, Michael Castillo in 2004 and Edward Castillo in 2012; and partner, Judy Hughes in 2011.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 13, 2013 from 3 to 6 p.m., at Woodyard Funeral Home, Soledad; followed with Rosary at 6 p.m., at the funeral home.
Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 9 a.m., at Our Lady of Solitude Catholic Church in Soledad, followed with burial at the Soledad Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted.
