Betty was the school nurse that took care me, my brother, and my children while all of us were in Carroll County Schools. She was kind, caring, and very loving to all of us. As a former school board member, she made me realize the importance of school nursing for children and families in our community. Betty and my Aunt were friends in high school and in nursing school in Mount Airy. Memories of her sweet smile and how she could calm the most upset child with a temperature check and something to drink. She is was a treasure to all of us.

My deepest sympathies go out to the family and friends.

I was a student (many years ago) when I met Betty at Woodlawn Intermediate. She was a wonderful and loving person. She always worked with me regarding hearing test. She was the one that told me that even though I couldn't hear out of my left ear that I was able to tell by the vibrations during those testing sessions. She was a wonderful nurse.
