Christopher Fugitt Obituary
Mr. Christopher "Red" Shay Fugitt, 29 of Hillsville, VA, passed away as a result of a motor vehicle accident Saturday, May 8, 2021. He was a beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend to many. He was born in Catawba County, NC on November 29, 1991 to Bobby Fugitt and Sherri Carswell Turner.
He is survived by his wife, Kenya Nicole Fugitt of Hillsville, VA; daughter, Leigha Ann Fugitt of Hillsville, VA; mother, Sherri Turner and husband, James of Hillsville, VA; father, Bobby Fugitt of Hickory, NC; sisters, Ivey Fugitt of Hickory, NC and Alexis Taber of Florida; brothers, Bradley Fugitt and wife, Hope of Hillsville, VA, Nathan Fugitt of Hickory, NC, James Taber and wife, Lori of Hillsville, VA and Corey Taber of Hillsville, VA; maternal grandfather, Bob Carswell and wife, Trudy of Hickory, NC; maternal grandmother, Clara "Cookie" Gardner of Hillsville, VA; step grandparents, Tina and David Hylton of Hickory, NC; Godfather, Gary Parker of Marion, NC; several nieces and nephews also survive.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, May 13, 2021 at High Country Services beginning at 7pm. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5pm until 7pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leigha Fugitt custodial savings account, c/o BB&T Bank.
Covid-19 restrictions and social distancing will be observed.
The care of Mr. Fugitt has been entrusted to High Country Services. Online condolences can be made at www.highcountryservice.com.
