Passed away at 72 Years Young on July 14, 2020
John was born August 27, 1949 in San Diego, CA to the late William and Lorraine Avery. John is survived by his 2 sons, Erik and Jon Avery; grandchildren Jason and Dylan Avery; his sister Patricia; many nieces and nephews. John has now joined his brothers, Bill and Wayne and sister Arveyda.
John was a Navy veteran and served on the USS Isle Royale. He loved music, golfing, Charger Football and being with friends and family. He loved his work as a DJ at KISL, the island radio station, under the name of Johnny B-side. John was a longtime resident of Avalon and his family welcomes any and all who would like to join in our celebration of his life on August 27th from 1:30-5PM at Machine Gun Park

I am so sorry to hear of Uncle Johns passing. I am the daughter of his sister, Patricia. My mom passed away in 2013. Although I didn't know Uncle John, my mom spoke of him many times.
