John was born in Trinidad,
CO on Nov. 18, 1944 to Albert Duran Sr. and Agnes (Gonzales) Duran.
John earned his Angel Wings Oct. 13, 2021 surrounded by his children and loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Thomas Duran. John is survived by his companion of 36 years Elaine Zajicek; his children John (Kaaren) Duran Jr., Kimberlee (Barrett) Duran-Woomer and Aaron (Jamie) Duran; grandchildren Mackenzie, Connor, Kaaren, Nico, Boston, Gianna and Wolph, all from Pennsylvania; brothers Albie Duran and Tony Duran; sister Berta (Ray) Duran Garcia from Colorado.
John, affectionately known as "Cump," was a generous, sweet, kind man who knew no strangers and was a friend to all.
Cump was born in Trinidad, CO and graduated from South High School in Denver. After graduation John proudly served in the U.S. Army. He made his home in Carnegie, PA where he raised his family and was a successful businessman, opening and managing Duran's Restaurant and Lounge.
John was laid to rest Oct. 18, 2021 in St. Joseph Cemetery in Carnegie, PA with FULL military honors.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021 in Denver at the VFW, 5220 W. Warren Ave. at 11:00am. All friends and family are invited to come help us celebrate and honor our brother's wonderful life.
