It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ann Louise (Standish) Davis, age 85, of Lebanon, CT who peacefully passed away at home on December 11, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on July 9, 1939, in Norwich, CT, to Clark Wattles Standish & Louise Clark Standish, Ann lived a life filled with love, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family and community.
On August 9, 1958, she married the love of her life, Ronald Lewis Davis, and together they spent 45 wonderful years building a life filled with love and laughter. She was known for her kind heart, infectious sense of humor, and her ability to make everyone feel like they were a part of her family. Ann's presence was a blessing to all who knew her and she will be deeply missed. Ann was a proud graduate of Lyman Memorial High School in Lebanon, CT, class of 1957. After high school, she dedicated herself to her family, career, and community. At work, she was respected for her hard work, integrity, and the compassion she showed to everyone around her. Her jobs included: working at the Willimantic Trust Co., a dispatcher at CT State Police Troop K in Colchester, selling Dutchmaid clothing at home parties, secretary for the 1st Congregational Church of Lebanon, aide at the Lebanon Cooperative Nursery School, and owner of Recognition Products. Ann loved the beach, gardening, quilting, caring for children, reading, volunteering, traveling, and she spent many years contributing to her community in various ways.
Ann is survived by her beloved children, Pamela and her husband, John Grabber, Ronald Davis Jr. and wife, Rebecca (Toepfer), and Susan and husband, Ronald Vigue; her grandchildren, Clarissa (Matthew Case) and their daughter, Ember, Naomi (Jamison Bryant), Stacia (Hudson Baldwin), and Josiah Grabber; Myles, Ronald III (Samantha-Jo Hayward) and their son, Ronald IV, Mallory-ann, and Lucinda Davis; Emily (Patricia Sciglimpaglia) and their son, Blake, Cassandra (Max Hernandez), and Clark Vigue (McKenna Hence); as well as many nieces, nephews, and cherished friends. Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald, her infant son, Jeffrey, her brother, Clark Donald Standish, and her sister, Joyce Huntington Cady.
Calling hours will be held at Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home in Colchester from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, December 15. A church service to celebrate Ann's life will be held at the First Congregational Church of Lebanon on Monday December 16 at 11 a.m.. Family and friends are invited to attend and share in the memories of a remarkable woman. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to Hartford Healthcare At Home Hospice Care (1290 Silas Deane Highway, Suite 4B, Wethersfield, CT 06109) or Soroptimist International of Willimantic, CT (459 Goshen Hill Road, Lebanon, CT 06249) in Ann's memory.
A special thank you to all of her nurses and caregivers over the years. There are so many people to thank but just to name a few: nurses, Holly & Lori (Hospice), nurse, Nicole (HHC), Jen, Judi, Shayla, Kristin, Megan, and Dana (Undercover Angels), along with her long time caregiver & friend, Maria (HHCIAH) and so many others. Ann's legacy of love, generosity, devotion, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
