Kathryn Hamilton Obituary

DANBURY, NH

WILLIMANTIC

Kathryn Jean Hamilton passed away peacefully surrounded by her children in Warner, NH on the morning of November 19, 2025 at the age of 71.

Kathy was born on January 29, 1954 to parents Ralph and Phyllis Rodman and grew up on Mountain Street in Willimantic, CT. She studied Fine Arts at Eastern Connecticut State University and started her professional career in advertising where she met her loving husband Robert A. Hamilton whom she married in February of 1982; Kathy and Robert were happily married for 32 years until Robert predeceased her in July of 2014. Kathy spent many years maintaining a warm and loving home for her family, working in the town office, and later held a position as an art teacher at the Academy of the Holy Family in Baltic, CT. In 2014 she moved to New Hampshire to be closer to her children and growing number of grandchildren. Kathy had a lifelong love for all forms of art, animals (especially dogs and horses), and always held a special place in her heart for Mickey Mouse and Disney. Kathy will be remembered by all who loved her for her unfailing Christian faith, unforgettable sense of humor, and her kind and generous nature.

Kathy is predeceased by her parents Ralph and Phyllis Rodman and her husband, Robert Hamilton. Surviving family members include her siblings, Jeffrey and wife, Debbie, Susan and husband, Val, and Janice and husband, Wes; her children, Jonathan and wife, Paige, Laura, Nicholas and wife, Amber; and her six grandchildren. Kathy will also be remembered by the staff of Pine Rock Manor who played an irreplaceable and invaluable role in the final chapter of her life.

A celebration of life and reception is scheduled for December 5, 2025 at 10 a.m. at the Canaan Assembly of God in Canaan, NH. All are welcome to attend and in lieu of flowers, please send donations to Compassion International or the Pregnancy Center of the Upper Valley. There are a few people in life who truly leave a lasting impact, and Mrs. Hamilton was one of them. I’ve always carried her lessons with me. She was kind, caring, and so loving. Her class was my favorite, and because of her, I fell in love with art. She believed in me, just as she believed in all the girls at school, and that belief strengthened and motivated me throughout my academic years.

One of my most treasured memories is when she went to the mother and daughter tea with me (sorry Laura, but thank you for sharing her with me♥) because I didn’t have my mom here. That’s how special she was. I have a Mickey Mouse ring that I bought for her, and I regret so much that I never had the chance to give it to her. I’ll keep it and treasure it in her memory.

I deeply appreciate the advice and wisdom she shared with me. I never took any of it for granted, and as I’ve gotten older, I feel even more how genuine and heartfelt her words always were. I will carry them with me forever.

She will be deeply missed. I’m praying for her and for Robert, and I hope they are reunited and enjoying their long-awaited meeting in heaven.

When I came to the Academy of the Holy Family, Baltic, Kathy was so welcoming. She was kind, compassionate and we shared many laughs together. She was truly a follower of Jesus Christ. I can just imagine her joyful enounter with God!

Kathryn was an outstanding individual with a beautiful soul. I am deeply saddened by her passing. As her former caregiver, before she transitioned to a nursing home, I had the privilege of experiencing her immense love for her animals and grandchildren. She treated me with kindness, respect, and dignity, making me feel like a member of her extended family. I am eternally thankful for the lasting impact Kathryn has had on my life, leaving a permanent place in my heart. Her fascinating stories, including her adventures at Disneyland and her experiences as an art teacher and horse owner, will be cherished always. My sincerest condolences are offered to her family. Thank you for the opportunity to be part of her life.

Mrs. Ham was an amazing art teacher and always made our lessons fun when I attended AHF. It was always great when she brought her Boston terriers to school!
I’m so saddened to hear of her passing, but she touched so many lives while she was here
