Mary Lou Wadsworth

With great sadness, we announce the passing of our mother Mary Lou (Healy) Wadsworth. She passed unexpectedly but peacefully in her sleep on Friday November 14, 2025. Mary Lou was born in Willimantic, CT to the late John F. Healy and Helen (Bellevance) Healy.

She attended St. Joseph's School, Windham High School and Bryant College. She worked at Capitol Garage in Willimantic, CT and went on to work as the Secretary for the Superintendent of Windham Public Schools where she retired. Mary Lou was active in the VFW Women's Auxiliary, the Red Hat Society and the Elks club. She had an infectious laugh, great smile, and loved unconditionally.

Mary Lou is survived by her children: Jonathan Wadsworth of West Hartford, Matthew Wadsworth (Kristie) of West Topsham, VT, Mary Wadsworth (Kelly) of Bonita, CA, and Karen Brooks (Rick) of Mansfield Center, CT; 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased in death by her first husband, the love of her life, George F. Wadsworth, second husband, Leonard "Jake" Tompkins, Sister, Carol Hurley and brothers, James Healy, William Healy and Michael Healy.

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday November 21, 2025, at 11 a.m. in the New Willimantic Cemetery 1774 W. Main Street in Willimantic.
