Rose Arinder Obituary
Rose Adkins Arinder went home to be with the Lord on November 22, 2025. Visitation will be held Tuesday, 11/25/2025 from 10:00 – 11:30 am at Lakewood Funeral Home with a private graveside following.
Rose was born May 7, 1927, in Meridian, Mississippi to Hilary Ray and Elgie Mae Adkins. She graduated from Meridian High School in 1945 and then attended Meridian Junior College and the University of Tennessee. She came back to Jackson and began working at the Mississippi Employment Security Commission. During that time, she was introduced to John Arinder, who was employed as an accountant at Sears Roebuck and Company after serving 26 months in the South Pacific during WWII and then graduating from Mississippi State University.
After John and Rose were married, they were transferred to Houston, TX where Melanie, their only child, was born. After 4 years, the family was transferred back to Jackson, MS. Rose embraced being a wife and mother with a special fondness for all the children on Springfield Circle in West Jackson. The family attended Robinson Road Baptist until its closing in 1969.
Rose lost her beloved husband at the early age of 42 and returned to work where she made many wonderful, lifelong friendships and ministered to many.
Rose later became a faithful member of Morrison Heights Baptist Church. She was involved in many Senior Adult activities and had a special bond with her Ladies Sunday School class.
Throughout her life, Rose showed her love and trust in her Lord and Savior and was truly a witness to His faithfulness and love. She enjoyed her life to the fullest and was also blessed by 2 God daughters, Ellen Aregood and Teresa Davis, who loved her unconditionally and played a major role in her life. She loved both them and their families. Her life also included many cats and other animals that she adored through the years.
The family would like to thank Clinton Healthcare for their many acts of kindness and love during her stay. The family request any memorials be made to Morrison Heights Baptist Church.
