Christine Shobert Obituary

Christine "Chris" A. Shobert, 99, of DuBois, PA died Sunday, December 5, 2021 at the DuBois Nursing Home.

Born on July 25, 1922, in Olanta, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry W. and Daisey K. (Aughenbaugh) Rowles.

She married William A. Robb who was killed in action in World War II. On September 24, 1949, she married Donald B. Shobert. He preceded her in death on March 13, 2018.

Chris was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in DuBois where she had been very involved in church activities. She taught Sunday School for many years and was active in the Ministry of People to People.

Chris was a Gold Star Widow and she had also been a member of the George D. Montgomery American Legion Unit 17 Auxiliary. She was also very active with her husband Don in his many football and wrestling activities.

Chris is survived by two sons, William A. Robb and his wife Susan of Raleigh, NC and Larry P. Robb and his wife, Nancy, of DuBois, PA, and one sister, Barbara Bryant of Florida, eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Kathryn Rowles, Natalie Bloom, Ruth Bloom and Thelma Keller and brothers, Paul and Harry Rowles.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.

A funeral service will be held Saturday at 12 p.m. from the funeral home with Pastor Dick Whitaker officiating.

Burial will take place in Morningside Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to DuBois Area Wrestling Booster Club, 1790 Treasure Lake, DuBois, PA 15801.

Sorry to hear this news. She and Don were married from the beginning of my life and has always been a positive and genuine soul. I enjoyed each time we were together, especially during the Christmas holidays, as the family gathered for all the festivities. Andi and I extend our deepest sympathies to Chris´s family.
