H. Michael Veltri Obituary
Born on May 1, 1946, in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph "Blackie" Veltri, Sr. and Helen (Landini) Ralston.
On August 8, 1970, he married his wife of 50 years, Lynda Eilene (Fersak) Veltri. She survives.
He was a 1964 graduate of Brockway Area High School and was a 1968 graduate of Saint Francis University, earning his bachelor of arts in education. For over 15 years, he was a history and economics teacher at the Punxsutawney Area High School. Following his career in education, Mike was a successful State Farm agent in the Reynoldsville, Clarion, and Rimersburg areas for over 25 years.
Mike was best known for his love of jokes and humor and love of his family. He was a life-long hunter and fly fisherman and spent innumerable days enjoying these activities with his family and closest friends. He enjoyed spending any time that he could taking in the beauty of God's creation, which he enjoyed on afternoon rides with his cousin John Michael Landini. In his younger years, Mike played for the Brockway Area High School football and baseball teams, and was a wrestler at St. Francis University. He was also an accomplished trumpeter, receiving the John Philip Sousa award for his accomplishments.
Along with his wife, Mike is survived by a daughter, Gretchen Gray-Licatovich and her husband Brian; two grandchildren, Morgan and Dallas Gray; three step-grandchildren Eric, Jaron, and Taryn Licatovich; his six half-siblings, Fr. Dennis Veltri, Christina Veltri, Joseph Veltri, Jr., Ricky Veltri, Diane Dickerson, and George "Buddy" Veltri.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2021 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 4, 2021 at 10 a.m. from St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer, his brother Father Dennis Veltri and Father Adam Verona co-celebrating.
Burial will take place in St. Tobias Cemetery.
Although flowers are appreciated, the family asks that individuals donate blood to a blood bank of their choice if they are physically capable or to donate to the Community Blood Bank of Northwest Pennsylvania and Western New York, 2646 Peach Street, Erie, PA 16508, in Mike's memory.

Mike and I grew up on the same street, played ball together, and laughed frequently. We were separated for many years when I joined my parents. Upon my return in 1977 we rekindled our friendship he remained a source of laughter and light heartedness. He will be missed. R I P my friend. My condolences and prayers for your family during this time of loss and adjustment.

I want Mikes family to know how much I enjoyed knowing Mike as an fellow agent . He was always quick with a joke to lighten the boredom and would have the answers the Questions in his head while the bosses were fumbling with calculators on the board. I knew Mike very well growing up in Brockway and we spent a lot of time together on the baseball field. Mike was a good guy and always happy and upbeat. My condolences to Mike's family at this time.
