John Peterson Obituary

John W. Peterson, 88, DuBois, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2024, at his home.

Born July 12, 1936, in DuBois, he was the son of the late John E. and Catherine (Ross) Peterson.

On October 22, 1955, he married Beverly (Ord) Peterson in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Together they shared in 68 years of marriage. She survives.

John graduated from Sandy High School and served in the U.S. Army. In his working years, he was employed by Wilson Meat Company for ten years and as a heavy equipment operator for an additional ten years. John was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends. John was a member of the Falls Creek Eagles.

In addition to his wife, John is survived by two sons, Gary (Vicki) Peterson and Brian L. Peterson, all of DuBois, six grandchildren, Ashley, Erika, Garret, Shayna, Isaac, and Jacob, and fourteen great-grandchildren, Hailie, Luke, Axton, Zoren, Valla, Maddox, Carson, Oakley, Maverick, Skylynn, Kai, Laikin, Cruz, Kayd, and Kenna.

John was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Jerry, and an infant brother, William Ross Peterson.

Friends and family will be received Wednesday, October 23, 2024, from 1-3 and 5-7 p.m. from the Adamson Funeral Chapel and Crematorium. A funeral service will be held Thursday, October 24, 2024, at 11 a.m. from the funeral chapel with Pastor Bob Newell officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the DuBois Area Honor Guard. Interment will be in his family's private cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Peter's United Church of Christ, 13 N. High St., DuBois, PA 15801 or to the organization of the donor's choice.
