Luella E. "Lou" Wray

1931 - 2025

Luella E. "Lou" Wray, 93, of DuBois, PA died Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Nelson's Golden Years surrounded by her family.

Born on December 15, 1931, in Karthaus, PA, she was the daughter of the late Blaine Hoover and Cleo McGonigal.

On February 13, 1954, she married Harry "Sooner" Wray. He preceded her in death in August of 2012.

Lou was a past member of Tri County Church.

She was a bartender by trade. You may have seen her at the Holiday Inn, the Sheraton Inn, her own bar, "Wray's Inn" in Penfield, PA, and finally the Super Sub & Six Pack.

Lou enjoyed bowling, traveling, and all sports, from the Rockets, DuBois Dream Team, Steelers, and the Pirates. But most of all, she loved going to any DuBois High School sporting event, where in 2009-2010, she was recognized, and awarded for "Outstanding Loyalty to the Students and Athletic Program."

Lou is survived by her children, (Karen (Lee) Peterson of Goose Creek, SC, Nancy (Herb) Barr of DuBois, PA, Marcia (Gary) Turner of Luthersburg, PA, and David Wray of DuBois, PA); son-in-law, (Darryn Renwick of Penfield, PA); twelve grandchildren: (Wayne, Misty, Kari, Mindy, Wendy, Craig, Emily, Kiley, Josh, Justin, Jamie, and Marybeth); nineteen great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren;, one brother, (Calvin Hoover of Utah); and two sisters, (Ruth (Clifford) Taylor of DuBois, PA, and Pamela Berkey of Luthersburg, PA).

She was preceded in death by one daughter, (Cindy Renwick); two grandchildren, (Gretchin Longo and David Paul Wray); one brother, (Lee Hoover); and two sisters, (Barb Snyder and Shirley Clark).

Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 from 3–5:45 p.m. at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.

A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. from the funeral home, with Pastor Terry Felt officiating.

Burial will take place in Morningside Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
