Sandra Kelege Obituary

Sandra Lee Kelege, 83, of DuBois passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, September 29, 2025.

She was born in DuBois on July 18, 1942, a daughter of late Richard and Daisy (Long) Johnson.

On June 9, 1976, she married James Lee Kelege. She had a long companionship with Dennis Geppert.

Sandra attended the DuBois Area High School. She had worked as a cafeteria worker for 27 years. Sandra enjoyed going out and dancing, making people laugh, spending time with her dog Rubin along with her family. She was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church.

Sandra is survived by her daughter, Jamie (Alvin) Kelege; her grandchildren, Samantha Kelege, Reagen Werner, Ethan Kelege, Hayden Kelege, Paige Kelege, and Ayvin Kelege; her siblings, Shirly (Donald) Cleary, and Denny (Nancy) Johnson.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Lee Kelege, her son, James Michael Kelege, her stepdaughter, Christine Conway, her sisters, Doris Frantz, Phylis Shirokey, Donna Chittister, Joyce Penvose, and her two brothers, Melvin and Ronald Johnson.

A private service for close family and friends will be held at Christ Lutheran church. Date to be determined.

Her final resting place will be at Morningside Cemetery.
