Silvestro Patalano

Silvestro Patalano, 80, Lynton Avenue, Brockway, died peacefully Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015, at his home with his family by his side.
Born March 27, 1935, in Ischia, Naples, Italy, he was the son of the late Domenico and Immacolata Capuano Patalano. He was married to Anna DiIorio. She survives. They enjoyed 49 years of marriage together.
Silvestro came to New York City in 1966. He and his wife were the owners of Anna's Bakery for many years there. They moved to Ridgway in 1988 where they operated The Pizza Shop on Main Street for many years. He loved fishing and vacationing in Manzanillo, Mexico.
He is also survived by three sons: Dominick Patalano, Anthony Patalano and his fiancée Karen, John (Cheryl) Patalano.
He is also survived by two sisters, one brother, five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, both here and in Italy.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Monday, Aug. 3 and Tuesday, Aug. 4, at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. A vigil service will be held at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, at St. Tobias Church in Brockway with the Rev. Msgr. Charles Kaza presiding. Burial will follow in St. Tobias Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to The Heart Center at Penn Highlands DuBois or the Gateway Humane Society in Falls Creek.
