Timothy Alan Bodt

1948 - 2024

Timothy Alan Bodt passed away on Nov. 21, 2024, at his home in DuBois, PA, his wife was by his side.

He was born to Walter J. Bodt and Marie R. Olsen Bodt on Dec. 15, 1948, in Mineola (LI), NY. He is survived by his wife, Graceann Bergin, his siblings Elizabeth, Adrienne, Wendy, Chloe, Jonathan, Abigail, Naomi, Rachel, Hephzibah, and Noah. He was predeceased by his parents and his siblings, Jim and Dagmar. He had 45 nieces and nephews.

Tim Bodt had many friends in the NY and DuBois areas and was beloved by many. "He was a jovial man. You either loved him or hated him, but he always spoke from the heart." He was a man always searching for the truth.

Tim was an active musician who began playing the trumpet at 10, and attended The Mannes Conservatory of Music. He worked with countless bands across the states and Canada, played and did arranging for several recordings, and taught music privately and at several schools/universities. He played in local bands including Dirty Martini (piano) and worked at Fritz Pianos and Organs. He played trumpet in the Catskill Hotels backing up such artists as Vic Damone, Sergio Franchi, Dom Deluise, Milton Berle, The Temptations, The Four Tops, and others. He played trumpet and wrote the horn arrangements for the Katrina Hurricane charity event at Bard College with Dr. John and Natalie Merchant. He played with Bo Diddley, Roswell Rudd, Dick Ness of Peter, Paul and Mary, Jay Anderson of the Joe Sample band, plus countless other artists. Tim was a member of ASCAP.

He had an extensive carpentry career in Westchester, Dutchess, Putnam, and Ulster Counties, NY, and worked with others to save the Lake View Lodge.
