Vernon Hoover Obituary
Born on March 25, 1964, in DuBois, PA, he was the son of Vernon B. Hoover, Sr. and Dorothy (Nelson) Hoover. His father preceded him in death. His mother survives and lives in DuBois, PA.
On September 1, 1990, he married Darla (Hatten) Hoover. She preceded him in death on December 2, 2021.
Bud was a graduate of the DuBois Area High School and held a degree in nursing from Mt. Aloysius College.
He retired this year after a 36-year career as a registered nurse. Bud worked at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital for the past 18 years and previous to that, had worked at the Brookville Hospital for 18 years.
Bud attended the First Baptist Church in Curwensville and enjoyed golfing, fishing, and bowling. He also was an avid fan of the Buffalo Bills … Go Bills!
He is survived by his daughter (Hannah Myers and her husband Greg of DuBois, PA), a brother (Albert Hoover and his wife Brenda), a sister (Amy Hoover Marshall), numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog "Princess."
In addition to his father and wife, Bud was preceded in death by his brother (Paul Hoover).
A public visitation with family will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the First Baptist Church, 1227 Susquehanna St., Curwensville, PA 16833. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 11 a.m. from the church with Pastor Daniel Osterhout officiating.
Memorial donations can be made to the Family House, 5308 Liberty Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 16833.
The Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc. is in charge of arrangements.

So sad to see this. Bud was a high school classmate of mine. We had a few classes together. I remember Bud as always having a big smile and I'm sure he carried that through life in his profession as a nurse. To his family I send my condolences and prayers. Remember the fond and wonderful memories. Fly high Bud.
