Charlotte Gay Chissell, age 59, resident of New Castle, went to be with the Lord in the early morning of May 11, 2021.
Charlotte, or "Gay" as everyone called her, loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. She worked most of her life with kids at the Head Start Program as a teacher's aide and bus driver. She also worked as a QMA at group homes and nursing homes throughout New Castle. Before retiring, she was a home health aide to some of the elderly in New Castle. She loved being outdoors, watching her grandkids and other kids in the family play. Her family was her whole life. Also, Charlotte just recently became a minister.
Left to cherish her loving memory include her husband, Ralph Chissell of New Castle; two sons, Adam and Walter Chissell, both of New Castle; two sisters, Terrie Dailey (husband, Danny) of New Castle and Rhonda Ford of New Castle; a brother, Mike Ford (wife, Joyce) of Dunreith; three grandkids, Brayden, Carson, and Aaliyah Chissell, all of Lewisville; her mother-in-law, Myra Chissell of New Castle; a sister-in-law, Pam Sexton of New Castle; several other family members including, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wayman (Boots) and Stella (Toots) Ford; grandparents, Cordell and Stella Ford; two sisters, Susie Willoughby and her husband, Danny Willoughby, Linda Burris and her husband, Jack Burris; a brother, Jack Ford; her father-in-law, Etdward Chissell; brothers-in-law, Mike and John Chissell; a sister-in-law, Janice Carter. Also, several other family members she cherished.
Friends may call 2:00 – 6:00 p.m., Sunday, May 16, 2021 at Macer-Hall-Marcum & Moffitt Funeral Home, 2011 East Broad Street, New Castle. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 17, 2021 at the funeral home with Reverend Ray Boyles officiating. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery.
