Devin Alexander Carter, 28, of New Castle, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Sydney and Lois Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born July 8, 1995, in Cincinnati, OH, a son of Victor Boyd Carter and Tara Lane (Baker) Carter.
Very outgoing, Devin attended New Castle Schools and was "loud and proud", as his little sister says. He enjoyed skateboarding and BMX bicycle riding. He also very much enjoyed spending time at his grandparents' farm.
A rapper, Devin's stage name was Kyd Tripp. He produced three albums, and collaborated with several artists in Indiana, including Trajik, Cvsper, and Kaari. Music was truly his life.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Tara Baker-Carter of New Castle; his sister, Grace Washington of New Castle; two aunts, Tiffney (Dana) Koontz, and Stephanie Brown (Marty Main), both of New Castle; cousins, Brandon (Taylor) Gibson, Olivia Boles, Samantha (Austin) Howell; Melissa Main, all of New Castle; several other cousins; half-siblings, Vincent Carter of TN, Ashton Carter of CA, Gabrielle Carter of Indianapolis, and Christian Carter of Indianapolis; paternal grandmother, Anna Rucker of TN; great aunts and uncles, Kermit (Tonda) Baker, Kimble Baker, Kathy Turner, and Kelly Baker, all of New Castle.
He was preceded in death by his father, Victor Boyd Carter; maternal grandparents, Kilby and Brenda Baker; great uncles, Keith, Kameron, Kurt, and Karvin Baker; maternal great grandparents, Kenneth and Grace (Upchurch) Baker.
Devin's family would like to thank the staff of Eskenazi Hospital for their wonderful care and compassion. And a special thanks to the Indiana Donor Network, who allowed Devin to end his story as a hero.
