Earline Carter, 85, of Knightstown passed away Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2025, at The Waters of New Castle. She was born July 5, 1940, in Westmoreland, Tennessee, the daughter of Clarence and Lassie (Sullivan) Henson.
She retired from Preston- Safeway in Indianapolis in 1995, and then was employed at Knightstown Court where she had been court clerk for several years. In her earlier years she enjoyed bowling. Earline loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren especially sitting outside on the porch with them.
She is survived by her daughter, Sherry (Heathcliff) Hart of Knightstown; two grandsons, Cliff (Emily) Hart and Jacob (Ashleigh) Hart both of Knightstown; two granddaughters, Addison Hart of Knightstown and Courtney Hart (Ron) of New Castle; eight great grandchildren, Carter Hart, Solaris Keck, Harper Keck, Heath Hart, Cliffie Hart, Teddie Hart, Rebekah Hart and Claire Hart; sister, Jeannie (Freddie) Pervine of Mississippi; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Realis Carter; one brother and six sisters.
Graveside services will be held at a later date in Eulia Cemetery in Westmoreland, Tennessee.
