Greg Qualkenbush, 61, passed away early Monday morning, November 24, 2025 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
He was born on September 21, 1964 in Ft. Bragg, North Carolina, the son of John W. and Betty Sue (Conner) Qualkenbush and grew up on a farm in Mooreland. Greg graduated from Union High School with honors in 1983. He attended DeVry University and Vincennes University, where he was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. He married the love of his life, Donna J. Gaw on July 17, 1989.
Greg worked with his dad, John at Country Cars doing body shop work, where he specialized in painting cars and pinstriping. From 1986 to the present, Greg worked for Maxon-Honeywell Corporation. He had attended Westside Church of Christ.
Greg was very mechanically inclined and always seemed to know how everything worked. He took pride in being able to fix any problem he or his family encountered. His family always stayed at the forefront of his mind and he made certain they all were cared for and comfortable in every stage of life. He enjoyed engineering and the innovation of technology. Greg was a member of a bowling league for many years, he enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, IndyCar, baseball, football, and basketball. He was a car enthusiast who owned many over the years but was especially fond of his red 1977 Corvette. He was a judge at the Mooreland car show for many years and he always brought his sons along and let them help. Greg had a green thumb, he planted a garden every year he could and had many large cacti around his sitting room. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and watching them grow.
Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Donna J. Qualkenbush; three children, Nicholas Qualkenbush (Chrystal), Trevor Qualkenbush (fiancé, Leah McAlister) and Jack Qualkenbush; five grandchildren, Andrew, Mason, Dayne, Cooper and Lincoln; his mother, Betty Sue Qualkenbush; and two brothers, Michael Qualkenbush (wife, Deanna) and John Qualkenbush (wife, Sheryl).
