James Michael Emmons, 45, of Spiceland, passed away Nov. 25, 2025, at Franciscan Health Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born Nov. 17, 1980, in Muncie, to James "Kevin" and Lana (Ward) Emmons.
James attended New Castle Chrysler High School. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. His family meant the world to him. He would do anything and everything for his family. James loved to have fun and be carefree. He loved the outdoors and animals.
James is survived by daughter Katelyn Emmons of New Castle, parents James "Kevin" and Lana (Ward) Emmons of Spiceland, sister Monica Emmons of New Castle, nieces Macy Thompson of Hagerstown and Lilliam Smeltzer of Anderson as well as nephew Parker Smeltzer of New Castle. He was preceded in death by his great niece Sapphira McDougall, maternal and paternal grandmothers and grandfathers and best friend Chris Sexton.
A visitation to honor James was held from 5-8 p.m., on Friday, Dec. 5, at Rose City Funeral Home 2011 Broad St., New Castle.
