Jonathan "Jon" Wane Davis, 58, of New Castle passed away Thursday, October 16, 2025 after a brief illness at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. He was born December 7, 1966 in New Castle to Orval "Red" and Gloria "Sue" (Reeves) Davis.
Jon was a 1985 graduate of Blue River Valley High School. After graduation, he worked at Goodwin Brothers/Hubler Automotive in the parts department for more than 25 years. Jon enjoyed fishing, collecting hot wheels, working on lawn mowers and especially loved his dog, Cannon. However, the most important part of his world was spending time with his family and friends. Jon was a "gentle giant" and a wonderful and caring son, husband and father. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Left to cherish Jon's memory are his wife, Tina (Egan) Davis; daughter, Jessica Marie Davis (Bryden Coffey); mother, Gloria "Sue" Davis; sisters, Susan Harvey and Vickie (Kenny) Bray; nieces and nephews, Maggie Gross, Tucker Gross, Amber "Nikki" (Chris) Americanos, Steve (Amy) Abshire and Lindsay Abshire (Shane); best friend, Larry Flynn; mother-in-law, Shelby Egan; favorite sister-in-law, Lorri (Rusty) Egan; aunt and uncle; Buddy and Diana Reeves and several great nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his father, Jon is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Bo Egan; a nephew, Charlie Myers and beloved dog, Otis.
Services will be held Thursday, October 23, at 11:00 a.m. at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Bob Rust officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 22, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown.
