Michael "Shane" Kirkpatrick, age 56 of Spears, Kentucky passed away unexpectedly Friday August 18, 2023 with his wife Kelly by his side. He was born in New Castle Indiana on January 28, 1967 to Carolyn S. Huffman and the late Jack H. Kirkpatrick.
Shane graduated from New Castle Chrysler High School in 1985. He attended ITT Technical Institute where he graduated with the highest of honors in Heating, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration in 1986. He was a former member of the New Castle Fraternal Order of Elks.
Shane worked for Broyles Plumbing, Heating and Cooling in New Castle Indiana prior to moving to Lexington where he worked for Lexington Mechanical. He remained lifelong friends with Keith, David and the entire Broyles's clan.
Being a devoted family man he supported his twin boys, Scott and Shelton in all their interest. He loved watching them play soccer, basketball, baseball and trap shooting. He and Kelly spent many weekends watching their friends play live music.
Shane was an avid NASCAR fan and followed Mark Martin to numerous races all over the country. Being a thrill seeker he enjoyed skydiving, bungee jumping, white water rafting, drag racing, go-kart racing and horseback riding at KFTHC.
Shane never met a stranger and would help anyone. He had numerous caring and fun-loving friends. His love for life led him to help take care of and foster animals. Shane had a HEART OF GOLD!
He leaves behind those that will miss him; wife Kelly and twin sons, Michael Scott and Shelton Clay; mother Carolyn "Susie" Huffman and stepfather Steve; brother Rodger Kirkpatrick (Jennifer); brother-in-law Russell C. Chamberlain (Joanne), sister-in-law Quincy Chamberlain (Des), special nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins; family pets, Miss Kitty, Carlos, Zeus, Scout and Nalla2. He loved them all.
A Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, September 9, 2023 beginning at 12:00 p.m. at Clark Legacy, 601 E. Brannon Rd. Nicholasville KY.
