Shirley Bratton Obituary
Shirley D. Bratton, 86, of New Castle, passed away at her home on Wednesday, October 1,2025.
She was born on June 19, 1939 in Clay County, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Samuel Feldman Roach and Elizabeth (Spears) Roach.
She was a 1957 Graduate of Cowan High School and enjoyed being a homemaker and companion with her beloved husband of 59 years, James C. "Coy" Bratton Sr. who died on February 03, 2018.
Those left to cherish Shirley's memory include a son, Stephen D. Bratton of Phoenix, AZ; three grandchildren, Stephen (Veronica) Bratton of Titusville, FL, Elizabeth Bratton and James Bratton III both of Willmar, MN; and three great grandchildren; a sister, Regina Nobblitt of Fries, VA, and several nieces and nephews .
In addition to her parents and her husband, Shirley was preceded in death by a son, James C. Bratton Jr, on September 15,2024; two brothers, Fay and Terry Roach and two sisters, Elise Shinn and Lula Kratzer.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Sproles Family Funeral Home.
The family has requested no public viewing or services.
The Sproles family and staff are honored to serve the family of Shirley D. Bratton.
