William H. "Bill" Thornburg, 91, of Spiceland, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Glen Oaks Health Campus. He was born on July 12, 1934, in Rush County, IN to the late William Seth and Thelma Irene (Rummel) Thornburg.
Bill proudly served in the United States Army in the 11th Airborne. He worked at Ford Motor Company and retired after 30 years of service. Bill was a member of the Spiceland and Knightstown American Legion, served on the Spiceland Town Council for 8 years and a member of the Spiceland Fire Department. In 1967 Bill began attending Whittier Lane Baptist Church and was a faithful member until his passing. Bill loved singing in the Choir at church.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Thornburg whom he married on November 22, 1954; children, Kenny Thornburg, Jennifer (Matthew) Wolski, and Pat (Amie) Thornburg; grandchildren, Will Wolski, Emily (Taylor) Catron, Lindsey (Joel) Wicker, and Jeremiah Gabbard; great grandchildren, Dorothy Wolski and Jackson Wicker; brother, Jack Thornburg; sister, Bonnie Dirks; along with many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Penny Thornburg; brother, Jim Thornburg; sisters-in-law, Sue Thornburg and Bonnie Thornburg.
Services will be on Saturday November 22, 2025, at 11:30 am at Hinsey Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Doug Keppel officiating. Buial will follow at Circle Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of the service.

So very sorry for the families loss, but surely Bill is rejoicing in Heaven today!
I knew Bill years ago as he was my Sunday School teacher.(along with his wife)
I have fond memories of him. He will be missed I'm sure. Thoughts and Prayers for the family as they learn to navigate life without him.
