Jerry Ray McFadden was born on June 4, 1939, in Kensett, Ark., to Newton Floyd and Minnie Lee (Smith) McFadden. On Oct. 9, 2021, he passed peacefully from this life into eternity at the age of 82.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Barbara McFadden; his children: Sherry Rene' Mooneyham (Alan), Michael Ray McFadden (Ruthann), Floyd Jay McFadden (Karin), Zeta Kay Walker, Rebecca Gay Parker (Jason), Jenifer Dendy (Mollie), Lizanne Clark (John), Victor Hazelhurst (Toni) and James Hazelhurst (Paula); his siblings: Helen Frost, Dorothy Underwood, Jimmie McFadden (Francis), Julien McFadden, Larry McFadden and Doug McFadden. Jerry leaves behind 24 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one great-grandchild.
Jerry Ray McFadden served his country 12 active-duty years with additional time in the National Guard and Army Reserves. He served in logistics, and as a Chief Warrant Officer helicopter pilot and instructor with service in Korea, Vietnam and Desert Storm. He also worked as a builder and pastor.
A memorial service will be held at New Horizon International Ministries, 404 Eastline Road, at 10 a.m. on Oct. 23, 2021. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Gideon International.
