Arnold R. Mead, 60, of Vineland died Thursday evening, Dec. 6, 2012, at his home, following a brief illness.
Born in Bridgeton on July 29, 1952, he was son of the late Ross Mead and Anna Ayers Mead. He had lived in Vineland since 1973 and prior to that he had resided in Pittsgrove.
Before his retirement nine years ago, he had worked for the E.I. DuPont Corp. at the Deepwater Plant for 30 years. He was an avid golfer and horseshoe player and also was a fan of the Phillies, Eagles and NASCAR.
Surviving are two daughters, Michelle Silvidio of Pittsgrove and Melissa Mead of Vineland; a son, Arnold R. Mead Jr. of Vineland; a sister, Lisa Hollenweger of Pittsgrove; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Padgett Funeral Home, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township, on Wednesday at 1 p.m. Interment will take place at Fernwood Memorial Park in Hopewell Township. Friends will be received at the funeral home from noon to 1 p.m., prior to services.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Arnold's memory to the American Cancer Society, 1851 Old Cuthbert Road, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.
