Barbara Kennedy Obituary
Millville - Barbara Ann Kennedy, age 79 of Millville, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, May 17, 2021, after a brief illness.
Born and raised in Millville to the late Lawrence and Mary (Bybel) Miller, Barbara graduated from Millville High School. She married her late husband, Clifton Lewis Kennedy Sr., and they shared many years of marriage together until he passed away in September 2000.
Barbara and Clifton owned and operated their family business, Kennedy Concrete, Inc. in Vineland for many years. They sold the company in 2000 and both retired.
She loved her grandchildren dearly and enjoyed going to their soccer and baseball games, and always looked forward to eating Chuck E. Cheese pizza with her grandson, Cooper.
Spending time at the Jersey Shore, Ocean City in particular and going out to dinner were a few of Barbara's other favorite pastimes. She was also an animal lover and cherished the times with her dogs. Barbara indeed lived a simple life and treasured the time that she was able to spend with her family.
Barbara will be sadly missed by her son Clifton "Bud" Kennedy, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Shannon (Money) of Millville; three grandchildren, Alexis, Buddy, and Cooper; a very special sister-in-law Marjorie Astheimer; special nephews Christopher and Paul Astheimer; and other loved ones. She was predeceased by her husband Clifton Lewis Kennedy, Sr.; her daughter Maryann Kennedy in 2005; and one sister.
A Funeral Service for Barbara will be conducted on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad Street, Millville. Family and friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Millville. Please remember to practice social distancing while in the funeral home and cemetery. Also, masks are required to be worn in the funeral home at all times.
