This was a total shock. My heart is breaking not only for myself but for Mrs. Dooley, Tom,Barb and the rest of Brian's family. I never called him Brian. When we first became friends in the second grade at St. Peter's when I moved to town I knew him as Boo . In high school he became known as Dool. He called me Moondog.
We stayed Best Friends for almost fifty years. There is not enough room on this message board to talk about how much I loved him as a brother and someone who loved life and supported me no matter what. I don't think that I've ever known anyone as honest and brave as Dool. He had the heart of a lion and never hurt anyone. He had a sharp sense of humor and a great imagination. So many great memories over the years from early childhood through the last time we spoke around my birthday at the end of March. We played football together, were always together almost every day though high school. He stayed at my apartment about five days a week when I owned my bar at the shore. We drove from south jersey to Southern California together. He was at my wedding and knew my children. Years and miles got between us but we always talked on holidays , special occasions and always birthdays. I'm lucky to have so many great memories and to have had an amazing person in my corner. I will miss him always but I know that his great strong spirit will be with me forever.
Love you my brother Boo and thanks for being you!
