Michelle, I know you don't remember me, but we had spent some time in college together and you were a year behind me in high school. My Dad used to be friends with your Dad back in the day and are the same age. Didn't hear about your Dad's passing until I went home last weekend. Actually we live pretty close to your Dad. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Carmen was a great friend to so many. I knew him best as a guidance counselor who always showed kindness and compassion toward students in the VHS guidance office. Rest easy old friend.

So very sorry to hear about your Dad. For some odd reason I was thinking of you and decided to look you up (google) and found your Dad's Obituary. Please give your Mom my love. My condolences to the Galzerano family members. I knew Carmen since I was a young boy. I studied clarinet with him in elementary school through high school. Played quite a few concerts with him conducting the Red, White & Blue Band and played quite a few club dates with him also. A great musician, teacher and human being.

I was in Carmen's first VHS Band in my second year at VHS. I will never forget that at the first parent-teacher meeting he told my mother I had a case of "sophomoritis". I still have memories of him leading the VHS Dance Band where I loved playing those songs of the 30s and 40s with many great friends. Sorry for your loss.

It is a sad day for me to have lost the one person responsible for guiding me in the direction of my true passion - music. Though he will be missed, he will be with me the rest of my life, for without him all the wonderful colors of the beauty of life would have surpassed me. May he rest forever in the peace he deserves.

I attended VHS during his band years and was in the color guard. What a wonderful example he was to all of us.
