Constance Peters Obituary

Constance A. (Connie) Peters

Ms. Peters died after a long illness on December 28, 2013 at the Hospice Center in Bridgeton. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Elizabeth (Betty) Peters.

Connie was a graduate of Our Lady of Mercy Academy and of Cumberland County College and received a Nursing Degree from Gloucester County College. She was a member of Phi Thetta Kappa Honor Society with a 4.0 average. She was the former Director of Nursing- De Paul Corp. and a member of the Army Medical Corps and the 37th North Carolina Battery C, retiring from the Army Reserve Nurse Corps as a Major. She worked as a Vice President of Halco and Martex Pkg., Inc. and was a member of IMCO (Hazardous Materials Packaging Expert) and the NJ Transportation Society. She worked for The Daily Journal in Sales and was the Special Sections Coordinator and honored with the Employee of the Year in 1997 after receiving other awards and Employee of the month for several months over a period of years. She also worked for The Cumberland News as Director of Sales. She was a member of the Vineland Downtown Improvement District, member of the Founder's Day Annual Committee; she was active in Civil War Reenactment. She was a Ghost Hunter, Scuba Diver and active in Public Speaking.

She is survived by her brother, Patrick (Pat) Peters. The Memorial Service will be held at Fort Mott, 454 Fort Mott Road, Pennsville, NJ., on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 1PM at the Picnic Pavilion rain or shine. Reenactors and former or present Military are asked to come in uniform to honor her service. This will be a Service combined with a Picnic. Please bring chairs, food, and drinks to share with others and happy stories to tell. Connie wanted a happy service with big smiles in her honor.
