GORDON HOFFMEISTER Obituary

Gordon L. Hoffmeister, 56, of Manville and formerly of Vineland, passed away Friday, Oct. 23, 2009, at his home. Gordon was born in Edison to the late Gordon B. and Rose (Boros) Hoffmeister, and lived in Vineland most of his life before moving to Manville. He graduated from Vineland High School, Class of 1971. Gordon was a roofer for Union Local No. 4 of North Jersey for 25 years. Prior to joining the union, he was a self-employed carpenter and roofer in Vineland. He enjoyed going to flea markets, listening to country music, and being with family and friends. He was an avid collector of coins and antiques. Gordon was predeceased by his brother, Anthony Glenn Hoffmeister in 2000. Survivors include his sister, Felicia Barber (William) of Mays Landing; companion, Angie Cardamone of Scranton, Pa.; aunt, Karen Embley of Piscataway; nephews, Brandon Hoffmeister and Joshua Barber; and cousin, Clint Tatum; and several other cousins. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday from Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home, 1024 E. Landis Ave., Vineland. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Vineland. Visitation hours are from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday from the funeral home. Written condolences to the family may be e-mailed to wbfuneralhome@ comcast.net. Arrangements are by Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home of Vineland.

Dear Gordon,
I found these photos of you in my collection. One is of you getting ready for work. I always admired your hard work ethic.
The second photo is of you and two friends. You certainly had close friends who appreciated you.
The third photo is of you dressed up to go out. You were always meticulous about your appearance.
I want to take this opportunity (since I didn´t get to tell you before you past), that I appreciated you and our time together when we dated.
My hope is that you are at rest in the arms of Our Lord.
I continue to pray for you till this day.

You surely are going to be missed. We've been friends for some time now and when we did see each other it was always a pleasure talking with you. I'm sure you are at peace now, without pain. My condolences to Gordy's family. I met Gordy through a friend he was married to who worked for UPS. I only knew Gordy for a short period of time, but in that time we grew to be friends.

Gordy, we will miss you very much. Thank you for everything you have done for us. I will never forget it. i am glad you are now with george i know you missed him alot. I will try to help Angie during these difficult times but she also has to help me, we are in a boat with no oars! We will be remembering you at my house in your honor this weekend.
