Irisvelio Roman Obituary
Irisvelio Roman, 76, of Vineland died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2012, at his home.
Irisvelio was born in Utuado, P.R. He was the son of the late Josefina Reboyras and Inocencio Roman. He retired as a machinist at Wheaton Glass Company and worked as a school crossing guard for the past 11 years. Irisvelio enjoyed politics and was very involved in many civic organizations in Vineland. He served as a committee member of the Vineland Housing Authority and the Puerto Rican Social Club. He also enjoyed being a member of the Holy Name Society at Divine Mercy Parish in Vineland. Irisvelio was a hard-working devoted father and grandfather.
He is survived by his children, Eddie and wife Jackie of Vineland, Mervin and wife Sandra of Fresno, California, Carlos A. Roman of Vineland, Alvin Roman and wife Zeida, Lisa Roman of Utuado, P.R.; siblings, Carmen V. Roman of Vineland, Hector Roman of San Juan, P.R., Carlos G. Roman of Vineland, Wilfredo Roman of Ponce, P.R., and Milagros Roman of San Sebastian, P.R.; grandchildren, Eddie, Jasmine Roman and Francis Ulloa of Vineland, Fares Hereter and Alondra Roman of Utuado, P.R., Kristalyn and Anneliese Roman of Fresno California; along with many nieces and nephews.
A funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Parish, 23 W. Chestnut Ave., Vineland. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland. Relatives and friends will be received today from 6 to 9 p.m. at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland and again on Thursday morning at the church from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m.

I just had to write with sympathy in the loss of such a kind and friendly man. We only saw each other in passing, as I work across town at Barse School, but I enjoyed Mr. Ed's smiles and waves and nice conversations when I ran into him at Shop Rite or CVS. Please find comfort in the coming days knowing how much he will be missed.

I missed my father so much I can't believe he is gone. I had him for 47 years 24/7/365 days of the year I was the lucky one. I don't know what life has to bring for me. And my aunt who is a second mother to me. I'm so grateful for everyone and there kind words as I read them all. I light this candle for you dad. I will personally miss seeing him working in his yard and the many little conversations we had. We looked forward to seeing him every week at church . . . To Carlos and the rest of the Roman family, please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Irisvelio was a wonderful person and we will always remember him and his kindness. We were glad to chat with him almost on a daily basis, and sorry that we didn't have the chance to chat as much this year due to all the traffic, although, we were able to wave every day.
