Justin Alvarez Obituary

On Thursday, March 22, 2012, this earth lost a warrior. Justin Shane Alvarez, 11, battled the cancer that invaded his little body like a true warrior. He didn't complain or wince with pain, but he praised God and spoke his truth through his entire journey. His mommy and daddy were by his side when he left to be with the Lord.

He was born on Jan. 21, 2001, to loving parents, Jeff and Kerry Alvarez and big brother, Jeffrey Ryan Alvarez. Justin was a fifth-grade student at Bishop Schad Regional School in Vineland.

He was loved by many and he loved as well, for that we are all grateful! We are so blessed to have known this special little guy. Although he will truly be missed here on earth, he is in a place where he can sing out loud, smile, run and praise the Lord.

Justin had an unwavering love for the Lord and His word. Justin loved his family and his favorite place in the whole world to be is home. Justin loved to sing and those who had seen and heard him know he was not shy. His favorite little dachshund, Oscar, was always at his side. When Justin did something, anything he put his mind to, he gave it 110%! Justin had many collections, the latest being over 70 Ugly Dolls. When someone dared challenge him at arm wrestling or a board game Justin was usually the winner!

May he shine down on us as we miss him and grieve our great loss.

Justin is survived by his mommy and daddy, Kerry (Landicini) Alvarez and Jeffrey Alvarez; his big brother, Jeffrey Ryan Alvarez; his paternal grandparents, (Mama) Carmen Alvarez and (Papa) Modesto "Chito" Alvarez; great-grandmother, Emily Vasquez; his maternal grandparents, (Mommom) Patricia Costa-Lake and step-grandfather (Poppop) Dr. Bill Lake; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and lots of friends.

Justin touched the lives of so many people as he was a true warrior in the flesh and of God. He spoke the truth and believed with his heart and soul every word of the Holy Bible. Some of Justin's favorite sayings to his family and friends were "by His stripes we are healed" and "count it all joy." What an inspiration, wise beyond his years, Justin Shane Alvarez is and will always be our special hero.

A funeral service will be held at noon on Thursday at Chestnut Assembly of God Church, 2554 E. Chestnut Ave., Vineland. Burial will be private. Family and friends will be received from 5 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland; and again from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursday at the church.

The family requests no flowers. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Justin Alvarez Trust Fund, 1404 Nelson Drive, Vineland, NJ 08360. Please visit www.dlfuneral.com to send the family condolences.

I did not have the pleasure of knowing your son but when I read this in the paper it struck home to me.The Lord placed on my heart to share with you. Many people ask why do bad things happen to good people? Why does God allow this to happen?

I did not have the pleasure of knowing your son but when I read this in the paper it struck home to me. The Lord placed on my heart to share with you. Many people ask why do bad things happen to good people? Why does God allow this to happen? When my mom lost her first born she asked these questions. Her preacher told her that the Lord only wants Beautiful Flowers in his Garden. Your son is one of many Beautiful Flowers in our Awesome God's house. The Lord does not want weeds in his garden no more than we like weeds growing in our flower beds. Bad people are like weeds. May the Lord comfort and keep you in his care and remember all the wonderful moments that you had with your precious son who was a true gift from God. This little boy of yours I know has touched so many lives. I know he touched mine. A stranger who never even had the opportunity to speak to him. Praise our Awesome God!!

To the little Angel May God Rest your Soul in Peace. Death is not not the end---It is another step forward in heavently father's plan for his children. Someday like everyone else, your body will die, but your spirit does not die, it goes to the spirit world, where you will learn and progress and may be with the loved one who passed on.
Death it is a necessary step in your progression just as your birth was. Sometime after your death, your spirit and your body will re-united ---never to be separated again. This is call resurrection and it was made possible by the by the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Jose Alvarez, (Woodbury N.J.)
