Pauline "Pesh" Fisher

Pauline "Pesh" Fisher (nee Kravitz), 93, of Bridgeton died peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday evening June 2, 2015. The wife of Edward Fisher, the Fishers had celebrated 73 years of marriage this past March. Mrs. Fisher was born in Vineland on November 8, 1921 and was the daughter of the late Jacob and Esther Maile Kravitz. She was raised in Norma, graduated from Vineland High School in 1938 and attended Glassboro State College (now Rowan). For more than 60 years, she worked side by side with her husband in the operation of Fisher's Market in Bridgeton and later at Main Street Supermarket in Millville.
She was a member of the former Congregation Beth Abraham in Bridgeton and the Sisterhood at the synagogue. In addition, she was a life member of Hadassah of Cumberland County. She had the reputation as an excellent cook and baker and she also was proficient with her knitting.
She was "a friend to all and her customers and family were her life."
In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by one daughter, Judith Nidorf and her husband Lawrence of Millville and one son, Louis S. Fisher of Bridgeton and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her only brother, David Kravitz in 2010.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the graveside funeral services Thursday afternoon June 4th at 2 o'clock at Alliance Cemetery, Gershal Avenue in Norma where the interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to the charity of the donor's choice
