RICHARD LANGLEY Obituary

Richard Louis Langley Jr. of Denver, Colo., and formerly of Vineland, passed away suddenly on Thursday, Aug. 11, 2011, at home, surrounded by his family.

Rich-ard was born and raised in the Vineland area, but relocated to Denver in 1990. He was one of four children born to Richard Louis Langley Sr. and Anna (Papiano) Langley-Pezzella. Richard was predeceased by his father, Richard Sr., in 1986.

Richard began his journey here on Earth on May 21, 1960, in Daretown. Richard was a loving son, brother and friend to many. He was affectionately known as "Richy" to those who knew and loved him most. Richard graduated from Vineland High School, then went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree with a double major in communications and psychology from Metro State College in Denver. He then set his goals higher and went on to earn a Master's Degree in science of the mind. Richard was previously employed at the Denver Technical Center in computer repair. Richard also was an accomplished writer and had one book published.

Over his lifetime, Richard was very active in community service. He had a very big heart and served as a helper of the disabled. He was known and loved by many who were physically handicapped, and also gave of his time to help people learn to read. Some of Richard's favorite hobbies were fishing, hiking, playing the organ, and listening to his favorite artist, Elton John. He was also an avid reader.

Richard's family and friends will best remember his great sense of humor, his wonderful smile, and the love that he had in his heart to help others in making their world a better place.

Richard is survived by his mother, Ann (Langley) Pezzella; his stepfather, Ben Pezzella; a brother, Mike and wife Martha (Carver) Langley of Denver; and two sisters, Sharon (Langley) and husband Tom Henson of Pittsgrove, and Denise (Langley) and husband Les Hampton of Franklinville. In addition, he is survived by nieces Michelle Henson, Sarah (Henson) Molloy, Ashley and Audrey Langley, Christine (Hampton) Davis, Melonie (Hampton) DeFrancesco; two great-nephews, Gavin Molloy and Devon Hampton; and a great-niece, Starleen Hampton.

Arrangements are by Stork Family Mortuary in Lakewood, Colo.
