Robert J. Alexeev. Loving brother, uncle and brother-in-law left us to mourn his passing Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013. Bobby was born in Newark and died at Atlantiare Regional Medical Center in Pomona. He was 81. Predeceased by his parents, Michael and Lorraine Alexeev, and his daughter, Roberta. Surviving are his brother, Michael (Elisa) Alexeev, and sister, Audrey Lutes; nephews, Laurence (Donna) Lutes, Richard (Pam) Lutes, Michael Alexeev, Mark Banker and Dale Banker; nieces, Victoria (Jerry) Bianchini, Karen Alexeev, Lynn Alexeev and Tracey Goff; numerous grandnieces and grandnephews; and his best friend, Wylie.
Bobby was a graduate of Montclair State College. He was a musician all of his life. He started his career with the original U.S. version of the Jumping Jacks. During his musical career, he had the opportunity to perform with Jane Morgan, The Four Seasons, The Five Jets, Les Paul and Mary Ford, Frank Sinatra Jr., Sammy Davis Jr., Vikki Carr, Sergio Franchi, Jerry Lewis, Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme, Don Rickles, Jack Jones and many other celebrities. He performed all over the country, particularly in Las Vegas and Atlantic City. Never fully retiring from music, later in life he worked with Andy Genna in his limousine service, drove a school bus for the city of Vineland and the trolley in downtown Vineland. He continued to play with Bill Biondi and Sam Ricci (The Sidemen) during parades and at various Senior Centers in the South Jersey area as recently as July 4th. Early on he worked for Boeing as a draftsman for the first U.S. nuclear submarine.
Bobby was amazing; he had perfect pitch; he played music; wrote music; taught music; drew caricatures; and was a kind and gentle soul.
