Wade H. Brody, 43, of Millville passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at South Jersey Healthcare HospiceCare, Bridgeton.
Wade was born in South Portland, Maine, to Melvin S. and the late Susan R. (Litwack) Brody. He was a resident of Vineland before moving to Millville 22 years ago. Wade graduated from Silver Springs High School, Class of 1986, in Maryland and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in business from the University of Maryland in 1990. He then returned to South Jersey to work in the family business at Brody's Furniture Store. Wade's soul passion was to raise funds for the M.S. Society, and he was recognized by the National M.S. Society as a prolific fundraiser. Through his work with the MS Society, he helped to raise over $2.7 million as founder of the Parvin State Park MS Walk. He truly believed he was put on this earth to raise money for a cure; he never had a complaint or gave up hope that one day he would walk again. As someone who was diagnosed with MS, Wade chose to make this his fight, not just for himself, but because he didn't want anyone else to go through what he did. Wade had a smile that would light up the room. He was a true inspiration and will be dearly missed.
Wade is survived by his father, Melvin S. Brody and wife Joanne of Millville; his sisters, Tara Perry of Charlestown, W.Va.; and his niece, MacKenzie Perry; and sisters, Rachel Harle Shanley and Deborah Harle Kroschwitz. Also by his stepsister, Erin DeHaven; and many special aunts, uncles and cousins. Wade is predeceased by his mother, Susan R. Brody; maternal grandparents, William and Marion Litwack; and his paternal grandparents, Sidney and Lois Brody.
The funeral service will be held at noon on Monday at the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home, 1024 E. Landis Ave., Vineland, with Rabbi Yisroel Rapoport officiating. Burial will follow in Alliance Cemetery, Norma. Friends and family may gather from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the funeral home. Shiva will be held on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the Brody residence, 101 W. Harrison Ave., Millville.

To Mel and your family, I was so very sad to hear about Wade. My fondest memory of him was when he was younger coming to the Millvile office and he would beat me at chess. A sweet kid. In our hearts he will always be.

I may be saddened that Wade is gone; but I'm glad that God brought him into my life. Thanks to Mr. Brody for welcoming me into the house for my impromptu visit to Wade a couple of years ago. May God's peace be with you at this time.

Thank you Wade for everything you did to bring MS awareness to Cumberland County and for spearheading the walk at Parvin. You were an inspiration and I'm glad to have had the chance to meet you a few years ago. I have no doubt that your efforts will be carried on by others, in honor and memory of you. RIP

"Life is not a destination, Life it's a journey" Death is the reward of life. We came to this world as visitors and such we had to leave. His Grand father, Sidney was a great- great person and a great Boy Scout leader. Wade thanks for all your services to the MS society. May God rest your soul in peace.
