Jessie Daniel Seward, age 81, and Jean Marie Virginia "Ginny" Seward, age 80, after almost 28 years of marriage together, died tragically Monday, June 24, 2024. Jessie was born August 24, 1942 in Port Arthur, Texas, the son of Woodrow and Mary Seward. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He moved to the Sheridan area in 1972 and, after 34 years of employment, retired from Extruded Metals. In his younger years, he enjoyed bowling, playing baseball, and watching stock car races in Crystal. He also enjoyed his "retirement job", working at Stanton Hardware. Ginny was born August 28, 1943 in Madawaska, Maine, the daughter of Alphonse and Blanch Albert. She and Jessie married on September 7, 1996. Ginny was loving and caring, and would help anybody in need. She also worked at Stanton Hardware, and at the Sheridan Village Market. They were both faithful followers of Jesus and active members of Greenville Community Church. They will leave a legacy of faith, kindness, and love for their family. Jessie and Ginny were preceded in death by Jessie's first wife, Betty; Jessie's brother, Earnest Seward; Jessie's sister, Kathy Presley; and Ginny's brother-in-law, Gene Beckler. They are survived by Ginny's children, Lisa & Joe Schodowski, Tamara Fisher, and Mike & Toni Courter; Jessie's step-children, Shiryl Adams, Deborah & Lee Soule, and D. Robert & Alice Adams; Ginny's grandchildren, Kevin & Kendra Battig (Emmalee, Elizabeth, Ellisyn), Derrick Battig & Melissa Patton (Mason, Bella, Sarai, Gideon, Adalynn), Tristian Schodowski & Katie Lilly (Ayden and Ellamae Rose), Codey Schodowski & Kourtland Nielson, Robert Schodowski & Sydney Hopkins (Charlie), Tristin Fisher & Cole Stearns (Axton and Carson), Bryce Fisher & Alissa Emelander, Skyler & Kaylee Courter (Beau), and Devin & Amber Courter (Karsyn, Leo & Elijah); Jessie's grandchildren, Jacob & Jaymi Soule, Joleen & Clint Jensen, Sara Cuthrell, Dennyse & Alfred Johnson, John & Arica Adams, and Sonja & Dennis Shiver; many other great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; Ginny's sisters, Alphonsine Beckler, Ruth & Dale Wanink, and Nancy & Bill Baker. A memorial service to celebrate Jessie and Ginny's life and faith will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, July 10 at Greenville Community Church, with visitation from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm prior to the service. Military honors will be rendered jointly by the Stanton American Legion Post 452 and the Greenville American Legion Post 101 Honor Guards.
