Doug Posey Obituary

Doug Posey

Newark - A funeral service fore Doug Posey will be held at 7pm on Monday, June 21, 2021, at Brucker Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st Street, Newark, OH. Family will greet friends from 3-7pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

Douglas Edward Posey entered this Earth on June 16, 1960 and returned to Heaven for his 61st birthday on June 16, 2021. He graduated from Utica High School in 1978 and attended OSU Newark. His early working years employed him at Bob's Root Beer Stand and Holophane, then his love for music and ear sound led him to start many businesses: Custom Car Audio, Moving in Stereo, and finally, Ministry Sound. His first love was God, then family and friends, food, and music.

Doug married Vicky Romine in 1993 and had two sons, Josh and Caleb. They opened their hearts and home to host many home groups in their church. He had a talent for playing guitar and led praise and worship in many area churches. His son, Caleb, said it best, "Dad lived a tasteful life!"

Often Doug would take road trips across the countryside to meet up with old friends and lend a listening ear and have dinner at the latest restaurant finds. He was so kind and giving to everyone and was nonjudgmental. We love you Doug and you will be greatly missed, but we are comforted by where you are now.

In addition to his wife and children, Doug is survived by his siblings, Jeff & Becky Posey, Steve & Jenny Cannon, and Ben & Karen Posey; In-laws, Bud & Julie Norris, Sheila Romine, Ray & Claudia Lamp, and Sarah & JR Haley; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Patsy Posey.

I am so sorry to hear about Doug´s passing. He grew up down the road from me. He was friends with my brother Denver. I always looked up to him. He loved my spicy spaghetti back in the day. He was just a really nice guy. So sorry Vicky. I remember when you two first started dating. I am glad you had a great life together.

So sorry to hear of Doug's passing...
I remember what a kind, gentle person he was back in high school, and I also remember how smart he was, and he always had a smile for everyone. Keeping you all in my prayers.

I met Doug through his work (he did a great deal of work for us at church) and he was a great guy. Always welcoming in his demeanor and gracious as he taught me (the unlearned/unknowing) the things I needed to know.
My sympathies to those who loved him. But this not goodbye, rather yet I'll see you in the morning!

Grace and peace to you all,
Paul

We will miss you Doug. You were a wonderful addition to our group doing our Newark Pastors breakfast. We love you and will see you again in a glorious place. You were too young to leave us yet. Blessings to your family.

I knew Doug many years ago. We attended the same church for years. Many years later we crossed paths again in a home bible group. He always appeared to be a genuine person in love with God. He will be missed. So sorry to hear of his passing. I pray God comforts you in the great time of need. Love and Prayers, Tina Spencer

Doug loved Jesus and his family more than anything. He was kind and generous. I will always remember him for his musical passion and the words of wisdom he would share during our Life Group. The spirit of God connects people like no other. He walked in the Spirit and in Truth. You are missed!

Doug Posey was one of the kindest individuals that I knew. He treated everyone the same. If he knew a problem an individual was having he would pull them aside and talk to them and always end with a prayer. I truly believe he was one of Gods chosen ones and that he went beyond of what God expected of him. He will truly be missed and this earth will not be the same without him.
