Margaret Van Blarcom Obituary

Margaret 'Peg' Van Blarcom, 76, of Muscatine, died on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013, at Lutheran Homes.

Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Reverend Dan Schoepf of Calvary Baptist Church will officiate. A time of food and fellowship will be held following the service at Calvary Baptist Church.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation. Online condolences: www.wittichfuneralhome.com

Peg was born on December 8, 1936, in Coldwater, Michigan, the daughter of Kenneth and Margaret Schmidt Cuyler. She married Lynwood Van Blarcom and he preceded her in death.

She worked as a bookkeeper at Stiles Drug Store, Carver Hardware, and later at the Hotel Muscatine.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She loved to play bingo, eat popcorn, dilly bars, and loved her family and friends.

Those left to honor her memory include two sons, Karry Van Blarcom of Hudson, Colorado, and Ray Van Blarcom and wife, Nancy, of Muscatine; one daughter, Gloria Snider and husband, Kirk, of Muscatine; six grandchildren, Brandon Van Blarcom, Ashley Van Blarcom, Matthew Van Blarcom, Tucker Snider, Duncan Snider, and Abigail Van Blarcom; three great-grandchildren, Aiden and Hailey Van Blarcom, and Dylan Hess; and one sister, Gretchen Hollister.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one brother, Kenneth William Cuyler.
