Ronald Keelean Obituary
A memorial service will be held Friday, December 21, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor Mark Case from California Community Church officiating. The family will receive friends, prior to the service, beginning at 1 p.m. Interment of ashes will take place at a later date at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Ron was born April 8, 1954 in Hillsdale, MI to Robert & Aletha (Huston) Keelean. He married Delma C. Hahl on October 2, 1998 in Coldwater. She preceded him in death on December 16, 2014.
Ron graduated from Hillsdale High School and served in the US Army from 1972 – 1983, honorably discharged with the rank of E-6. He briefly worked at Bundy Tubing then went to work for the Michigan Department of Corrections in 1984. Mr. Keelean worked for the Lakeland, Muskegon, Jackson and Camp Branch facilities, retiring in 2005.
Ron was an avid golfer and enjoyed woodworking. He loved to socialize and was known for the stories he told.
Ron is survived by his children Andrew Keelean of Coldwater, Ronald Keelean, Jr., his siblings Tim (Jackie) Keelean of Reading, Vickie (Thurlo) Rodgers of Hillsdale, Linda (Larry) Addleman of North Adams, his grandchildren Breanna Hale, Savannah Hopper and Daylan Sprague and his former wife Shirley Keelean of Coldwater. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter Nicole (Nikki) Keelean.
Memorials may be directed to the Branch Co. Humane Society.
