Carol Estelle Christensen Ergenbright, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and lifelong educator, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2025 at the age of 78. Born to the late Carl and Estelle Christensen, Carol grew up in Virginia and moved to Maryville with her husband and children in 1983.

Carol dedicated her life to education and literacy. She began teaching Adult Basic Education with Blount County Schools in 1984, later serving as Coordinator until her retirement in 2015. Her tireless work helped countless adults achieve literacy and educational goals. She was honored in 2000 as one of Blount County's "Women Who Make a Difference" and received the Sequoia Literacy Award in 2002. Carol was active with the Tennessee Association for Adult and Community Education and the Adult Education Foundation of Blount County, where she established the Adult Spelling Bee.

Carol cherished hosting holiday meals, spending time with her grandchildren, and walking the Greenbelt. She was also an avid reader and an active member of the Carpenter's Campground Methodist Church Women's Group.

She is survived by her husband, Robert F. Ergenbright; daughter Kirsten Craft; son Robert C. Ergenbright; grandchildren Reed, Raleigh, Nathan, Kaden, Connor, Owen, and Ava; sister Ann Christensen; and brother Erik Christensen.

Visitation will be at 1:00 PM with funeral at 2:00 PM, Sunday, August 24, at Broadway United Methodist Church, followed by interment at Carpenter's Campground Cemetery and a brief reception.
