Charlene Rauhuff Obituary

Charlene Rauhuff Charlene Rauhuff, age 85, of Maryville, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024 at Shannondale Assisted Living Center of Maryville. Charlene was a member of Concord United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Young High School and Knoxville Business College. Charlene worked as a bookkeeper at Standard Knitting Mills and then Proffitt's Department Stores Advertising Department (Belk) for over 25 years. After retirement, Charlene followed her love for travel and visited countless lighthouses around the Great Lakes, Eastern seaboard and the Gulf coast. She found her serenity beach combing the shores of any beach. She also enjoyed her years of service delivering meals to hundreds of Blount County seniors through the Meals On Wheels Program. Her bright smile was infectious to those around her. Charlene encouraged everyone to "make memories."

Charlene was greeted at the gates of Eternity by her mother, Orpha Lela Gollahar Nelson Byrd and father, Charles Martin Nelson; sister, Patsy Jo Common.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving daughter, Lucinda "Cindy" Rauhuff (John) Troyer; grandchildren, Zane (Mariel) Troyer and Zeke Troyer; "second daughter" Wendy Wilson.

Family and friends will gather to honor Charlene for graveside services at Woodlawn Cemetery, 4500 Woodlawn Pike, Knoxville, TN 37920 on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 2:00pm.

The family would like to thank Sheri, Paula, Tracy, Aaron, Beth, Kris, and the rest of the caring staff at Shannondale of Maryville for the loving care they offered during her final days.
