Born: July 7, 1973 | Died: April 30, 2025
Gary Lynn Harris Jr., age 51 of Maryville, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at Blount Memorial Hospital. Gary was a member of First Baptist Church of Friendsville and served as a missionary with Baptist Medical and Dental Mission International. He loved scuba diving and playing Texas Hold-em poker. He was a talented engineer who could fix anything. Gary was always smiling and was a glass half full type of person and the life of the party. He was always playing pranks, making jokes, and picking on his friends and family as a show of love. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, papaw, son, and brother who will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He was preceded by his grandparents, Elsie Lee Wilson and Martin Headrick; uncle, Pat Wilson; and step-brother, Stephen Finch; He is survived by his wife, Kasey Harris; children, Taylor Harris, Olivia Harris, Kolby Tipton, Emmagin Harris, and Gary Lynn Harris III, all of Maryville; granddaughter, Hadlee Harris; sisters and brother-in-law, Julie and Josh Dyer and Jenna Harris; parents, Gary L. Sr. and Debbie Harris, and Kim Headrick; grandmother, Peggy McClintock; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 8, 2025 from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Friendsville with a Celebration of Gary's life to follow at 7:00 PM with Rev. Bill Gowder officiating. Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Friendsville in honor of Nicaragua Missions at 403 N Farnum St, Friendsville, TN 37737.
