Westerly - Alice L. (Perry) Anderson, 85, a resident of The Elms in Westerly, passed away Friday, Oct. 8, 2021. Born in New London, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Alice (Banta) Perry.
Alice grew up in Groton, and prior to living in Westerly, she resided in Stonington for fifty years where she raised her family. She loved going camping, and was an avid bowler, participating in many leagues in her younger years. Alice also played bingo, enjoyed gardening, baking and playing cards, especially her favorite card game, rummy.
She is survived by her three children, Lisa Tattersall and her husband Gary, William J. Anderson III and Brian Anderson and his companion, Candace Read; her siblings, Herbert and Robert Perry, Anne Winn, Helena Ilvento and Marcella McEwen; grandchildren, Becky, Joey, Johnny, Megan, Christopher and John; her great-grandchildren, AnMarie, Emma, Isabel, Zachary, Brooke, Michael, Johnathan, Catherine and Alyssa; a great-great-grandchild, Landen; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband William J. Anderson Jr.; brothers, Frank, James and William Perry; and her sisters, Frances, Marie, Columbia and Gail.
Her family would like to thank the staff at the Carriage House and Rhode Island Hospice for the dedicated and loving care shown to Alice during her time as a resident.
A service for Alice will be held at noon Friday, Oct. 15, at the Mystic Funeral Home located on Route 1 in Mystic. Her family will receive relatives and friends starting at 10 a.m. Friday, up until the time of the service at the funeral home. Her burial will be held privately.
