Anna Holzl Obituary
Anna was born Nov. 17, 1905, in Norwich, the daughter of the late Stephen and Elizabeth (Schaffhauser) Voech. She was married to the late Michael J. Richard on June 24, 1925. He passed away Jan. 16, 1963. She then married the late Walter B. Holzl on Nov. 26, 1977. He passed away Sept. 7, 1982.
She had worked at Norwich Cutlery as a quality control inspector and then worked for the State of CT/Uncas on the Thames in the diet kitchen. Anna was a co-founder of the Montville Senior Citizens, a communicant of St. Johns Church, where she served on the Rosary Altar Society, she was also a member of the Daughters of Isabella in New London.
She is survived by her son, Lawrence M. Richard and wife, Theresa, of Uncasville; and by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was predeceased by her daughter, Rita A. Appell; brother, Stephen Voech; sisters, Julia Sauersopf, Marian Richards and Sister Eligius.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Monday, July 11, 2016, at St. Johns Church in Montville. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery in Montville.
