Asst. Chief of Police Carl Dennis Bordelon

March 8, 1963 - January 10, 2015

Funeral services for Carl Dennis Bordelon will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Pineville with the Reverend Bruce Miller officiating. Interment will be at Alexandria Memorial Gardens in Alexandria, followed by honors from the Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office honor guard, then followed by the Policeman's Final Call by the Rapides Parish 911 Comm Center, retiring BL-3. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Funeral Home in Pineville.

Mr. Bordelon, age 51, of Ball, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on Saturday, January 10, 2015 in Ball.

He was a native of Alexandria and a parishioner of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Carl served as the Assistant Chief of Police for the town of Ball Police Department, along with his longtime K-9 partner, Dino, where he was a loyal and devoted officer for the past 20 years. He loved hunting and woodworking, and enjoyed spending time in his Man Cave.

He is preceded in death by his father, Richard J. Bordelon and his nephew, Ryan Bordelon.

He is survived by his fiancé of 14 years, Alicia Leggett and her children, William LaCour and Chantelle Fredieu, and her grandchildren, Blaine, Bailee and Kameryn; two sons, Christopher Bordelon and his expectant wife (Casey) of Alexandria, Jacob Bordelon of Alexandria; his mother, Sylvia Gravel (Alfred) of Alexandria; two brothers, Craig Bordelon of Alexandria, Danny L. Bordelon (Vickie) of Alexandria; one sister, Brenda Simmons (Rex) of Broussard, Louisiana; one step-brother, Louis Gravel (Kathy) of Shreveport; one step-sister, Holley Carey of Baton Rouge; two grandchildren, Regan and Riley Bordelon.

Pallbearers will be his brothers from the Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office honor guard.

Friends may visit with the family at Rush Funeral Home in Pineville on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary recited 5:30 p.m. Visitation will resume at Rush Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.

my sympathy to carls family. he was a great man. I use to cut up with him when i worked at pit stop he would always come in there and hang out with me and my coworker just talking and seeing how life was treating us.He knew my fear of funerals and wakes so he knows why i am not there. i am there in spirit. He's another angel that will be watching all of us from above. RIP Carl you will be missed.

Dear Alicia and all of Carl's Family, I am so saddened to hear about Carl. I would see him around the police station often, and we'd stop and visit a minute and I'd always ask about you Alicia. He served our little town well and was ready to help anyone who needed help. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him and loved him.
