"I was so sorry to hear of Bruce´s passing. Though it´s been many years, I have fond memories of us playing together in the neighborhood as kids. Those simple times left a lasting impression, and Bruce will always be part of those cherished childhood memories. My condolences to the family."

I'm sad to learn of Bruce's passing. I have vivid memories from childhood and school years of neighborhood football games on Front Street or Spicer Park, and the many Blue Jay races we sailed as competitors or as a team in ECYRA competition. I also had the privilege to play high school football against Bruce where he was as strong and tough as he was nimble and light on his feet on a sailboat. I'll never forget when crewing with Bruce on an overnight race on a C&C 35, a crew member let a spinaker halyard down a little to quickly...Bruce leaped to leeward under the boom and gathered the wet spinaker to the deck with just 3 swats of his strong arm, before it became a sea anchor. I rarely saw Bruce the past 45 years, but what wonderful memories I have of his young life.
My sincere sympathy to Cheryl, Pam, Kurt and Gretchen. Paul Smyth
